I you do not wish to fight it, all that you need to do is pay it. The court will then enter a "no contest" plea which will lead to a finding of guilt if you do not appear at the time of the initial appearance date on the ticket and advise the judge that you want a trial date. People who value either their drivers license or their insurance rates, however, usually retain a lawyer in advance of the court date to get them a better deal than the original charge, which can often result in a conviction which will not appear on your driving record at all, depending upon which county you were arrested in and which law enforcement agency arrested you. Unfortunately, they all have different policies, but an experienced local traffic lawyer will usually be well aware of them.
