Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Wisconsin

Name Lagality

I will be getting married at the end of May and I have run into a possbile problem.

My birth last name and the name I currently use are different. I have been using the current name for as long as I can remember since my mom remarried when I was a baby. No, I was never legally adopted so the new last name is not official. While every document and proof of identity I have (except my birth certificate) has my current last name and I need to apply for a marriage license what are my options. If I need to change my name legally what process do I have to go through. The quickest option would be the best since I am running out of time. And one last thing. Will the legality of the marriage be in question if I don't get this done by then.

Re: Name Lagality

Why not just apply for the marraige license

in your real name (attach the alias if you

wish, as an aka) and then use the marraige

to get the name you really want? Marraige

and divorce are both free opportunities for

name changes.
