Prior to founding The Patent Shoppe, Mr. Lavender spent a number of years serving as a patent attorney at various law firms including Gazdzinski & Associates, Morrison & Foerster LLP, and Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves, and Savitch LLP. He has prepared, prosecuted, and secured both domestic and foreign patents for a wide array of clients, including Apple Inc. and Time Warner Cable.
Mr. Lavender has experience with a number of different technologies, including signal processing, image analysis, laser annealing, medical devices, cryptographic algorithms, stereolithography, e-commerce, optical particle detection, RFID protocols, wireless devices, switched digital broadcasting, biometric authentication, touch detection, and cloud computing.
Mr. Lavender graduated with honors from the College of Engineering at the University of California, Santa Barbara, earning a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, and later graded on the University of San Diego Law Review for being academically ranked in the top 10% of his law school class.
