Attorneys in Firm – 4Since entering the study and practice of law, Chaz has gained experience in government affairs, commercial litigation, corporate transactions, gaming, entertainment and many other areas of law. Prior to assuming his role as managing partner of Rainey Devine, Chaz was the Legal Counsel to Brandywine Bookmaking, the owner/operator of Lucky�s Race and Sports Books, handling the legal affairs of more than ten locations scattered throughout the State of Nevada.
Since entering private practice in 2008, Chaz has expanded his knowledge to include a wide array of legal matters and disciplines. Chaz� clients include gaming companies, film producers, graphic designers, manufacturers, real estate developers, defense contractors, aviation conglomerates, physical fitness chains, financial service providers, hospitality and tourism companies. In addition to the dozens of cases Chaz has handled within Nevada's eighth judicial district court, Chaz has practiced multiple cases before the Nevada Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the State of Nevada, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Chaz has also shown a fearless willingness to take on even the most challenging of cases. His first case as a private attorney was a Nevada Supreme Court challenge to the candidacy of the longest serving member of the State's legislature. Chaz has taken on the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in two federal court cases, and has even represented clients in international disputes with foreign governments.
While in law school, Chaz served as a legal extern in the Washington, D.C. office of then Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid. He also served as a summer associate for the internationally known law firm of Greenberg Traurig, LLP. While in his third year of law school, Chaz clerked for a general practice attorney based in the Las Vegas Valley, where he gained exposure to a wide range of litigation matters, including contract disputes, workers compensation claims, and personal injury. Upon graduating from law school, Chaz accepted a position with the startup gaming company Brandywine Bookmaking, where he directly assisted the company�s President and CEO in developing the venture from a simple concept to a fully licensed multi-million dollar gaming operation.
Chaz earned his undergraduate degree in English from the University of California, Berkeley, where he graduated with highest honors.
