Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
I have a tenant that keeps slamming his front or back door. He is such an angry person and will not stop.. How can I get him to stop or how to I obtain evidence so I can evict him for being a nuisance. He is disturbing the other tenants peace and quite. Thank you for any suggestions or experience you may have.

You can serve him with a three day notice to abate or quit. You must specify in that kind of notice the conduct that is troubling, as well as the identities of the people who are complaining, and detail the times it has happened. You should wait until there are sufficient numbers of times documented before serving the notice, to show that it is so overwhelming and aggravating that a court or jury would agree with you. I know it may be difficult to audio record the noise, but that would be helpful, too.
If he doesn't stop within those three days, then you might file an unlawful detainer lawsuit against him. It's always helpful to have an attorney assist you with matters in court.
By the way, have you thought of putting air closers or bumpers on those doors so that they can't be slammed?
