Sir,I m 24 years old.the problem is I have my birth certificate with the name of my biological father.and at that time my name was not decided.so there is a blank in my certificate.my parents get divorced in when I m 11 years old.and all the rights court gave to my mother.my mother got remarriage and change my name with my second father so after 6th std. All my certificate with the new father name so I have my leaving certificate or my degree certificate with my new father name.and I am married right now.and I want my passport but there is complication in my birth certificate and leaving certificate are mismatch.now how can I get the passport.please help me.and guide me right now I am in big trouble. I am adult so why I can't get my passport.i don't know now a days where is my X father .passport officer told me thay want the legal adoption paper.but how can it will be possible.

Dear Sir

Your Biological father is your true father, irrespective of the fact of your mothers second marriage.

Second thing, after the marriage of your mother, your step father, ought to officially adopt you in order to be your legal father. Until such adoption take place, your step father cannot become your legal father.

So, if you want to continue with your step father's name, then you have to show to the authorities that your step father has adopted you as per the customs. For this Affidavit may be required. Before you do so, get your name entered in the birth certificate. this will be done with a nominal fee by making application to the concerned authorities.

I would advise you continue with your step father's name, because you will otherwise will have to change all your degree certificate etc. You will have to draft 2 affidavit for this. 1) Affidavit of your mother and step father, then you have been adopted by your step father ; (2) Your affidavit to the effect you X - Son of Y (Biological Father) is the same person i.e X - Son of Z (Step Father)
