Legal Question in Banking Law in St. Kitts And Nevis

bank deposit error

I have an account in the US and am a permanent resident there. I have had that account for 15 years. I have been living in the caribbean for 2 years attending school. While here I had a scotiabank account. I closed the account last week and took the cash to go home. Apparently they made a wrong deposit in my account (4K usd) some months ago and now want it back, I head back to the US in 14 days. Being a foreign bank what action will they attempt to retrieve the money once I leave the island?

Re: bank deposit error

Would need more info to advise.

If scotia has offices (+attorneys) in the US, they would sue you just lijeany creditor (and report to credit bureaus). There may be US treaty issues also. What country is involved?
