Legal Question in Banking Law in India
Hello, The buyer of our property gave us a cheque. When we deposited the cheque in our bank, it was returned with reason as signature mismatch. What steps should we take now (as buyer is delaying a lot now)? Can the same cheque be used again with proper signature from the buyer (if possible)?

1) Yes. The same cheque can be reused if it is not stale. Ask the drawer to sign again properly and present again.
2) If not, file case u/s 138 of NIA for dishonor of the cheque.
