My daughter availed a student loan for study abroad in August 2014. The bank is now asking me to pay stamp duty plus penalty. No notice had been served on me by anyone before imposition of such penalty. What shall I do ?

Dear Sir / Madam,
If the Stamp Duty on the Agreement had not been paid then, you should ask the Bank to inform you in writing with reason(s) for this long delay in incurring the Stamp Duty. If the delay has been caused by the Bank, you can ask the Bank to incur the penalty amount.
Regards,
