Legal Question in Banking Law in India
Hello,
I have booked a flat and for that purpose I have give 3 cheques to a builder.
Builder hasnt yet given allotment letter of the flat. He has given me only the xerox copies of the cheque, nothing else.
I have requested the builder within 5 hours of booking that I would like to cancel my booking, so please do not deposit my cheque in bank.
The builder is keen to send the cheque for payment even after I have asked him not to do so.
To be on safer side, I have requested bank to stop payment for those 3 cheques.
Is it ok to do this?
Is there any legal liability on me?
