Legal Question in Banking Law in India
Hi
my mother was expired on 21.06.2014 due to ill health, died in hospital, in February my mother made an fixed deposit in nationalised bank for the sum of rs5000, she created my name as nominee, now she was expired and I have death certificate but still the bank asking me to get the legal heir certificate, is this certificate is compelsary even though my name was nominated, please advise

Legal hairs certificate is necessary. As a nominee you have right get the sum and a duty to distribute the same in all hairs an absence of any will.
