Legal Question in Banking Law in India
I had issued a post dated cheque to a builder for stage release. I had also received a letter from the builder stating i can stop payment the cheque if the infrastructure(Power to the building, water connection, lift) is not complete by a particular date and the builder hasn't completed the infrastructure by the committed date.
Is it legal to stop payment the post dated cheque?

Dear Sir / Madam,
Since you have a valid reason, it is perfectly legal to stop payment of a post dated cheque.
