Legal Question in Banking Law in Pakistan

Sir I had issued some cheques in September 2014 and those were dishonored due to not sufficient funds but later the said amount was paid in shape of cash, but I couldn't get my cheques back at that time and now as I have no good relation with that person he is blackmailing me to file a FIR and suit against those cheques. Please let me know what should i do legally to avoid this embarrassing situation. You legal advise is required.
