Legal Question in Banking Law in India
My sister had borrowed money from a relative of her in Bangalore based on cheque and agreement on stamp paper. The cheque was bounced and the case is going on in the court for the past one year. In the meantime, this same person who gave money to my sister asked me to come to his place and wanted 8 signed blank cheque and 8 blank stamp paper from me. I had signed as Witness for my sister's agreement. He took these blank cheques and stamp papers saying that he will not deposit. But I had given stop payment to my bank for the 8 cheque leaves. Now he is telling me that he has deposited my cheques by writing different different names and amounts on these cheques. He says he will file case against me too for bouncing cheques. What shall I do?

Dear Sir / Madam,
Keep all the cheques and stamp papers aside. Repay whatever monies your sister has borrowed with an acknowledged money receipt in full and final settlement and close the matter.
