Legal Question in Banking Law in India

My Uncle was expired two months ago.

He has a Saving bank account with Nomination Registered with my Name with same bank i.e BOB bank.

He was Single and has deposited 3.5 lac rupees in form of FD in BOB Bank in same branch with no nomination.

when i applied for deceased claim at bank,

branch manager asked me to submit succession certificate from the court in my favor.

I want to know that Succession certificate mandatory or not for those persons who is having nomination registered with saving bank account ?

Does the FD mention you as nominee?? if not then you will have to get the succession certificate.for further query contact 9312411481.
