Legal Question in Business Law in India
Hi. My client has not paid me for his purchases which is over 2.5 years old tho the payment terms is 60 days.He has bounced 2 cheques but I am unable to put a civil case on him as my partnership firm is not registered and the 3 months for putting a criminal case has already lapsed. I have the cheque in hand tho and proof that he hasn't paid. I have come to know that he is one of the trustee in one of the major temples in Tamil Nadu. There r several other trustees too in the temple. I was just wondering if I can write to these trustees and inform them about this guy who acts goody goody in front of them. Will be sued for defamation then? I feel the only want to get my money back is by trying to spoil his name and he being pressurised by his peers. Worse case even if I don't get my money i will b glad if I ruined his business for being a cheat.

Dear Sir / Madam,
Straightaway lodge a Police complaint against your client for "cheating" (Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code) and let the Police do the needful.
Regards,
