Legal Question in Business Law in Germany

Dear Lawyer,

I left my job recently (all done in agreement with the contract). My ex-boss asked me to send him a list with the tasks done during the time I spent at work. I sent him an email with the tasks (two weeks after departure). During that time, I had access to my professional email even though I reminded them that it should be shut down.

Well, they waited for the day I sent the email where I asked for the reference letter to lock my email (Now I don't have access to it anymore, it should have been the case before). I tried to call several times, but they do not reply. I believe that they have no good intentions.

What shall I do?

Thank you for your help.

Best regards,

Montaha.

Dear Montaha,

you are legally entitled to a reference letter (Zeugnis). You should officially request it, best by registered mail return receipt requested. If they still do not react, you can contact a lawyer.
