what is the difference between MOU and an agreement?

There is a very thin line between the two.
MOU- Memorandum of Understanding is an understanding between the parties to do or not to do some thing , which can be present or future. and is not legally enforceable.
An agreement is entered into with specific acts to be performed by the parties. they are legally enforceable.
