Legal Question in Business Law in India

Me and my friend have started a small scale business wherein we print designs and images on shirts and sell them. We are 17 years old. We have registered under VAT under a parents name with our names as benefactors. On the shirt we are using slightly modified images relating to manga/anime written by japanese authors. We are not sure about copyright laws. Kindly advise us of the same

you cannot print any image that is copyright protected.

Dear Sir / Madam,

The moment you slightly alter, improvise upon and modify any existing Japanese or any other country's animation or manga images to create your own better and sharper images and print them on shirts and other gear, they become your own intellectual property and remain outside the purview of the patents and copyrights act.
