Hi

I am starting an e-commerce business dealing with online selling of sweets/cakes and chocolates.

I want to know the legal formalities for starting the business.

As we are a small start up and dont have enough budget to hire some legal firm to help us in this, i will request you guys to help us in this.

Since you are starting an e-commerce business, having your own website linked to a payment gateway is recommended. The product range, list of distributors and other essential information useful for all suppliers and customers may be incorporated on the website. If you are operating from an Office or a shop, you should obtain a Shops and Establishment license in the name of your business, from the local Municipal Office to be framed and displayed in your Office. Since you are marketing food products and confectioneries, you should also check on the specified requirements of the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) for maintaining the highest quality standards for your products and your market image and reputation.
