Is it necessary that a managing director must be a director first of a company ??
Does resignation from the post of director also leads to cessation of his duties as a managing director ??? any recent case law on this ???

Dear Sir / Madam,
A Managing Director is appointed from amongst the Directors of the Company. So a Managing Director must be a Director first.
If the Director who is a Managing Director resigns from the post of Director, he automatically ceases to be the Managing Director.
