Legal Question in Business Law in India

Sir,

I am a retired public servant with very meager income. My daughter is working in an IT company at Chennai and has completed 1 yr.9 months there. She is selected for PGDM course elsewhere and she wants to join. When she informed of her intention to resign, they says that you have filled the bond and has to pay Rs. 2.00 lakhs and we are financially weak to pay that. I have heard collection of money like this has been restricted legally. Another point; she was given appointment order in 2011 and for joining they have postponed twice first they told to join in Nov 2011, then they postponed to June 2012, then ultimately allowed to join Oct 2012. Can we raise this point to them?

As she has to join the college within few days, an immediate opinion is requested as to what I can do to get rid of payment of bond money and to get a certificate from them. An immediate reply is once again requested

Dear Sir / Madam,

Any employer insisting on any Employment Bond from any employee is illegal and a criminal offense. You have not stated the period of service for the bond whether it is for two years. Yes, you should certainly raise this point that the employers delayed the joining period by over one year. Your daughter should flatly refuse to pay any monies to the Company on the bond.
