Dear sir,

my question is that if a promissory note written/typed on any Bond paper, if the signature is on bond paper and not on revenue stamp will it be considered as a Promissory note or a bond, when can a bond can be executable and when not, to treat as Pro note there should be signature on revenue stamp essential or not

Dear Arvind,

A Promissory Note does not need a Revenue Stamp affixed on it to be legally valid. NO, the signature on the Promissory Note is important, and no revenue stamp is required to be affixed on the Promissory Note as it is not a receipt for payment.
