According to the Notaries Act, a document to have been validly notarised needs to contain the Notary's stamp, register number and also the docket number. The same is essential for cross reference. If however the said declaration has been registered before the sub-registrar and the same has a registration number, then the requirement of the notary's docket number is not mandatory. Proof/ certificate of registration of the document is sufficient.
