Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in India
My father made a fixed deposit with a bank with my mother as joint holder and me as nominee. he passes away lat december and as per the instructions of the bank i provided them with a legal heir certificated from the office of sdm. now bank wants a legal heir certificate issued by court. what am i supposed to do now. moreover i have no brothers or sisters and noether my father had any.

Since you mother is the joint holder the money shall be given to her without any such formalities... for any query do reply me at [email protected]

Dear Sir,
Since your mother is the joint holder, with your father having deceased, the amount and title to the FD vests with your mother. Since you are just the nominee, you do not have any title to the FD.
