Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in India

My Father-in-law and Mother-in-law lost their purse while travelling in train (Bangalore-Kazipet). They lost one lakh worth gold and Rs 10000/- worth cash. As they came to know about this after reaching home and they travelled during night; they are not aware exactly where they lost purse. Destination police (Kazipet) are refusing to take up case by saying we dont have enough proof to prove that we lost purse in Kazipet. Same happened with Bangalore police too. How to handle this situation? Where to lodge case? and What is the procedure for such issues to lodge case?

Thank you in advance for spending your valuable time to answer this question.

Dear Sir / Madam,

Your in-laws' first approach was to report the matter to the Railway Police Station i.e Kazipet Railway Police Station. Your in-laws should ask the Kazipet Police Station what proof do they need other than an empty purse which your in-laws can show them. Tell the Police point blank that it remains their duty to register the complaint and give your in-laws the acknowledgement thereof.

Regards,
