Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in India

I am in Govt. Service since the year 19991, my DOB having been recorded as 17.6.1965 by our Department, on the basis of School Leaving Certificate. Whereas, as per my late parents and other old family members, my DOB falls in July, 1966, my Place of Birth being Jollaput ( may be in Koraput distt of Orissa or Visakhapatnam/Vizianagaram distts. of Andhra Pradesh), where my father used to service in Machikund Hydro Electric Project (agency area).in those good old days.

I have tried through an RTI addressed to Distt. Admn. of Koraput distt. in Orissa, but the reply simply says the PHCs (Primary Health Centres) began to function only from the year 1985, leaving me in darkness.

Now I proposed to put up another RTI to disstt Admns. of Visakhapatnam or Vizianagaaram distts. of Andhra Pradesh to try my luck.

Unless my DOB is corrected in my service records, I would retire in the year 1965, foregoing the benefits of eighth Pay Commission, that would likely to commence from 1.1.2026,

Some friends are telling that if information cannot be retrieved, it may be notarized and authenticated by the concerned distt. Admn, and then seek the Court's help.

Please suggest a proper way to deal with the issue.

Kind records.

Dear Sir / Madam,

It was your very parents who mentioned and furnished your date of birth in the School record as is evident from your School Leaving Certificate. Now just for the greed of getting the benefit of the Eighth Pay Commission, you are trying to go here and there to falsify your original record. don';t waste your time doing such rubbish as it is neither going to benefit you nor lead you anywhere. Be content with what you have and make the best use of your talent and resources.

Regards,
