Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in India
Hi,
I have a property in my name. I wanted to check if I can put a power of attorney for rent to my mother and then pay rent to her for the property for staying in it? Further can I also claim that in my HRA?
Thanks,
KK

Dear KK,
YES, you can show that you are paying rent to your mother for staying in the property and you are eligible to claim the rent paid as a deduction from your salary.
