Can a Hindu retain his father's Caste Name as his Surname with his new Muslim name after conversion to Islam?

Dear Sir / Madam,
A man has only one full name throughout his lifetime. It comprises of his first name, his middle name (father's name) and his surname (family name). Caste does not figure anywhere in a name.
