Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in India

Am married and am living with my mother in her flat from past 8years paying all mentance electricity bills and my brother and sister staying away from mother from past 10years.From past 15 years am taking care of my ill mother when I was 20yrs unmarried girl after my father passed away n I moved to mumbai after my marriage so my mother sold her house and bought flat in mumbai to stay with us as nobody was there to look after her so me n my husband staying with her taking care of all expenses.Do I have a right on the mumbai flat which is on my mother's name as my brother staying away from past 19yrs and sister after marriage moved to her husband its been 16yrs.Pls tell me as she has not made any will yet.

You will not get any automatic right over your mother's property unless she makes a will in your favour. You may also drop a detailed query at [email protected]

Dear Madam,

You should do your moral duty of taking care of your mother, and leave it to your mother to decide what she should do about her flat. Since you are taking care of your mother, she will certainly have a soft corner towards you and she will at some point in time act accordingly. It would be unfair on your part to rake up the flat subject with your mother. Let it come from her.
