Can police detain any person for 3 months only for suspicion of naxal without any evidence

the police have top produce a person within 24 hours of arrest before the court and no they cannot detain a person for 3 months that would be illegal

Dear Sir / Madam,
No. The Police will need to show cause notice for the reason for extended detention of a person without any incriminating evidence against him / her. Mere suspicion is no grounds for inordinate detention.
