Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in India
This Q is regarding the share of daughters in the ancestral property.My father inherited one house from family division and one house he built on the land purchased by him.similarly my mother also got one house allotted by Chandigarh Housing Board for which the payment was made by her.I would like to know in which property my sister have the right.

Dear Sir,
Your sister has proportionate rights on both the properties under Mitakshara Hindu law unless usage/custom/tradition provides exception. However, as far as your mother's self acquired property is concerned then your sister has also proportionate rights on the same unless your mother execute a will and debarring her from succession to her property.
