Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in India
My rented room was burglarized and stolen two laptops, one mobile phone and many other items. Shortly after the registration of FIR burglars were nabbed and police recovered the Laptops and kept in their custody. Sections mentioned in the FIR is 457/380. Navi Mumbai Koparkhairane Police Inspector asking me to hire one lawyer and upon his suggestion he facilitated in contacting a lawyer. The lawyer is asking Rs. 5000 as his fee for fighting the Case. Is this case be fought by government lawyer or by myself, the complainant? What should I do to get my Laptops which is in the Police Custody.

Dear Sir / Madam,
Do not hire any Advocate or lawyer. Represent your case yourself in person in the Court to claim your laptops.
