Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in India
Sir, I am 48 years old got married 24 years ago my husband is a state govt. staff, i have 2 children both are major, me and my husband were arrange married and till 2013 may, we were living together but for past 24 years we were not living happily always fights shouting and went to womens police station 6 to 7 times and returned, now he left me and living with relation or some separate home.
Now am going to ask for Maintenance from him since my sons are not working, one son is doing u.g and another son is doing p.g we need a financial support for us to live our life further, how can i ask him legally, and his colleauges are helping him out when i complaint about him to his higher authority. i need good advice whether am eligible to apply for maintenance, some say your sons are major so cant get maintenance but both sons are not yet working so we need some financial assistance for few years so only asking for maintenance help us

Dear Madam,
NO. You should look and ways and means of becoming financially independent - take up a job, or start some small business, so that you are self employed. Since your children are adults, they too can take up some part-time jobs and become financially independent. Also ensure that your sons find their own life partner too ... do not get into the hassle of arranged marriage.
