Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in India

Hello sir/mam

I am a victim of fraud done by my neighbour.

This guy shifted with his family in our neighbour a year ago..

He was of the same age so we became the colony friends who wud hang out for normal purposes...He started borrowing money from kids who were leving in the p.g's and from the elders which he returned so as to gain confidence.

He fooled everyone by saying that he is a software developer and started going to a office saying that he has got a contract to develop certain apps for a company.

I was a fresh engineering graduate and currently preparing for civil services exams but somehow he managed to brainwash me deviated me towards the business and startups..

I gave him an idea for a startup for which i asked for 23000 for buying the server...As i was unaware about the technical procedures and during the whole year he proved to b a gud friend...even his family pretended to b very nice to everyone.

Later on when i realised what he was doing as he contnuosly switched the topic and kept on ingnoring the topic...I told him to return the money in a week...He handed me a cheque in my name...

In few days several people came to his house asking for him and money...it was known from them that he had taken money from the money lenders at high rates and even got thrashed by many for fooling them.

One of our neighbours who is a govt teacher also got trapped into his web and gave him 40000 for getting his son a seat in an engineering college in Bangalore. Even he has cheques given by him!! As the things folded out it was known some people hired him to develop an app...he had taken around 50000 from them giving them false documents with fordged seals and in the end there was no app to b seen. Many local shops and restaurants where he used to sit and smoke for the whole day ask for 1000-2000 rs.

He fled from his house on 17th of august 2016...the day when those money lenders arrived at his house and that was thw day when he was exposed...

We are assured that his family is involved and they know where he is as we have seen them carrying bags and tiffins...we followed them but it was useless as somehow they switched there ways and its not possible that we keep an eye on them for the whole day...

I fear that his family may get me into some false accusation as i am continuously posting and sharinf it on facebook and other social media platforms and his father has been saying such things to the neighbours.

He has defamed my dignity infront of everyone..they dont say it but i can see that...As he was my friend and in the colony we stayed together...

I want him to pay for what he has done...i am not concerned abt the money..ill earn that again but he used me to make contacts...i had a reputation in this neighbour..

Please sir/mam...help me and guide me as what i should do now!!!
