Legal Question in Consumer Law in India
I went to ATM and made a transaction of 1000rs but got the message of deduction of rs 21000 rs ie 20000 rs were debited without my knowledge. I complained at the bank and the bank told me that the transaction was made and could not give me rs 20000. But when i asked for cctv clippings or footage, it could not provide me the clippings at the time of transaction as the cctv was not working. Should bank be blamed for this transaction, if yes then how much amount should i ask for the compensation?

Dear Sir / Madam,
Yes, you should lodge a written complaint to the Bank Manager of the erroneous debit of Rs. 21,000/- to your A/c and request them to investigate and immediately reverse the excess amount debited to your A/c. A Police complaint of the incident with a copy of the Police complaint to the Bank, is also advisable and recommended.
Regards,
