Legal Question in Consumer Law in India

Dear Sir/Madam,

I was using Reliance Wi-Max some two to three years ago when I was in Pune. After five-six months, I discontinued the service and switched back to another Internet provider. Now, I dont live in Pune anymore, I moved back to my hometown, since July, 2012. I think, I have settled the last billing amount. I have provided my E-mail ID at the time of applying for connection. I havent been contacted by Reliance for the last 2-3 years. Now, out of nowhere my friend (who is currently living there in Pune) have called me and told me that, you have got a Pre-litigation for the outstanding billing amount of Rs.1541/-from "Pune District Legal Services Authority, District Court, Shivaji Nagar, Pune" on the given address. I am asked to pay the claimed amount on 22/09/2013 at the time of hearing at Pre-Litigation Mega Lok Adalat.

Anyways, I am ready to pay the amount. Do I need to go for the customer court to meet Pre-Litigation Or this issue can be resolved by paying the outstanding amount at the nearest Reliance center??

Pleased help me on this. Thanks in advance.

Regards

Niraj Jawale.

Dear Niraj,

If you have supporting evidence that you have already settled the total outstanding and there are no dues pending, you should courier copies of your supporting to Reliance and the Pune District Legal Services Authority at their given address.

If you do not have supporting evidence, and you wish to make payment settlement, you should pay it up at the nearest center of the Service Provider and obtain a receipt of no dues pending from them and courier that letter copy to the Pune District Legal Services Authority at their given address.

Regards,
