Legal Question in Consumer Law in India
My friend gave me a dog to take care of. He has the papers for the dog. He did not bother for 2 years during which we have taken care of the dog like a family member. We have spent a lot on her food, care and vet charges. Now he has started calling me and threatening legal action if I don't return the dog. We are now very attached to the dog and feel this is not fair.
Please advice if the original owner has a case against us and if we will have to give up our dog?
Regards,
NS

1) It is not clear what type of papers do u possess have to be examined.
2) The ownership lies with the original owner.
3) U are only a trustee guardian to look after the welfare of the pet.
4) The original owner has to bear what are all expenses incurred during the period.
5) If the original owner goes to the court, the welfare of the pet is the
of paramount importance which all along u are taking care of.
6) His absence of 2 years, sudden appearance now, not taken the
welfare of her expenses etc are in ur favor.
