Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in India
I have given 11 post dated cheques to my landloard for rent purpose. But I vacated the house before the agreement expiration. At that time, he had 4 post dated cheques still with him. When I asked, he told me that he had torn and destroyed the cheques. I don't believe him, so I also did stop payment for those cheques. But, if he still had those cheques and try to use these, these will bounce/rejected. I am concerned if he can take some legal action against me in that case. What should I do for my safe side.
