one given a cheque of Indian Bank which was issued by the bank in the year 2008 and that cheque was deposited in S.B.I in the year 2014 for clearance & has been dishonored for not matching the signature of the drawer.Is it an offence under section 138 of N.I Act.

Dear Sir / Madam,
The validity period of a cheque is only three months from the date of the cheque. Since the cheque deposited for clearing in SBI itself being invalid since it is time barred, it is not an offence under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act.
