Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in India

I had emi offer on my credit card, i spent an amount and requested for 24 emi over call, customer service representative confirmed about the same but he actually converted into 6 emis,it wasnt affordable for me and after several callbacks and warnings i stopped making payments. Now they are harrassing me for hell of intrest charges. I reached out to all senior management and nodal deptt. They are not cooperating with me...is there any law which can help me and set a benchmark for bank???

Dear Sir / Madam,

All issues regarding payment and settlement of your credit card outstanding should be discussed and sorted out by personally visiting the branch that issued the card and it has to be backed up by the Bank in writing. Such matters cannot be actioned and resolved on telephone. You should visit the Branch and sort out the matter with the concerned Bank official.
