In reference to your question, the bank can start a case against you in UAE. They have to serve you the claim before starting any procedure against you. Since you are in Oman,

The procedure will be a bit long as the bank has to get a court order to notify you through the newspapers.

A non appearance judgment might be then issued against you. If the bank knows that you are working in Oman, they will try to execute the judgment in Oman by placing an attachment on your salary and bank account in Oman. Therefore, we highly recommend not to pay directly from Oman to settle your dept, but through an intermediary; this is in order not to reveal your place.
