Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in India

Hi,

I had a american express corporate card and i made some company expenses of upto Rs. 80000, but before i received the reimbursemnet i had to leave the company and now i haven't paid the amount.

Its been 4-5 months and American express have passed the debt to a collection agency.

I am currently unemployed and do not have the money to pay off the debt and the company has refused to pay me.

Please tell me a way if i can avoid this payment as i am not the one at fault here but the collection agency people are coming to my home and troubling every day

Dear Sir / Madam,

If you made expenses of Rs. 80,000/- on your card, you ought to have claimed the reimbursement amount spent on your Card for Company expenses; from the Company, prior to your quitting the services of the Company. Even though you quit the Company, your final claim of expenses (if any) pending reimbursement, remain legally due and payable by the Company to you.

You should check all your charge-slips and segregate your official expenses from your personal expenses, and send a mail to the HR of the final reimbursement amount still owed to you by the Company.

Regards,
