I have borrowed 3 lakhs from a Financier. Inturn I have submitted a cheque value 3 lakhs.

Now i have registered a land to the borrower worth 3 lakhs to compensate the money i borrowed, As i am not in a position to repay him.

Now he is not returning back that cheque value 3 lakhs to me. He is blackmailing that he would file a case against me for cheque return case.

Please guide me will i have legal problems in regards to it. kindly help me.

did you make a recital in the papers of land that land is in lieu of the borrowed money? One need to look at the document of registration of land very closely. You must have not received any consideration when you registered the land. If so, then there is nothing to worry. Meanwhile you may file a complaint against him that in spite of registration of land he has not returned the cheque.
