Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in India

i have supplied goods to a party by accepting PDCS. The agent in between said payment will not be a problem and i have supplied the goods. Now the party had asked for grace time to pay and we accepted that also. now the party has done stop payment for all the cheques. What legal action can be taken to get the money. Is the agent liable to the amount or only the pary has to clear the same.
