Legal Question in Criminal Law in United States

I was accused of molestation and I'm innocent, my mugshot was on the front page of the paper as well as on the evening news with my accusation. I spent 5 weeks in jail and now have had an ankle monitor on for almost 7months. And the ankle monitor fees are $11 a day. I have become homeless because of this and am being threatened with the possibility of going back to jail since I can't afford my ankle monitor yet I'm still innocent. What parties can I sue when this is over

Worry about the criminal charges and not about suing someone later on. Even if you're innocent, the only way you even might have a civil case is if you can *prove* both that you're innocent and that the authorities knew it but continued prosecuting you. That rarely happens, and even when it does it often can't be proved. If this turns out to be a provably malicious prosecution, you will have ample time to deal with it later.

When innocent people are charged it is almost always because, under the circumstances, they genuinely appeared to be guilty. Given that a judge has seen enough evidence to keep you restrained, it's very unlikely that there are no reasons to believe the accusations against you.

Suing the press isn't likely to succeed, though that will depend on what they said and on what information was available to them at the time. News outlets rarely say that pending criminal charges are true. Instead, they usually say only that the charges have been brought and describe the accusations. Those are statements about the case and not about the defendant.

Get a lawyer to defend you in the criminal case if you don't have one already. She will surely agree that this is no time to think about suing anybody.

Good luck.
