Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

I had given a blank signed cheque to a dealer towards security for the orders he had given to us. Now all the transactions has ended and there is nothing between us. Now he is bent on demanding money for the cheque. He will give the cheque to another stranger and file the case. Please advice how to counter this? There is no record of giving that cheque to the dealer.

Dear Sir / Madam,

First and foremost, ask the dealer to give you a letter in writing stating the amount and the reason for the claim against return of the cheque. After you receive the letter which contents will obviously be false, inform the dealer to immediately return your cheque failing which you will lodge a Police complaint against him. If the dealer gives the cheque to a third party without your written consent, the dealer will get into more serious trouble.
