Assault occasioning actual bodily harm is an indictable offence which means that there is no limit to when police can press the charge. However, in our experience, it would be unlikely for such a charge to be brought a year or more the alleged offence . If the charge was pressed by Police such a long time after, the Magistrate may well question why it was brought so late. It may also be easier for the lawyer to have the charge dropped. After all, Justice delayed is justice denied.
