If you are at court in the UK (actually this would be the same anywhere within the Commonwealth, EU as well as America to say the least, if you are at court in the UK and the judge stops the court to arrange when a pre-sentence report will be done, what happens if the offender does not co-operate and leaves the court is that there would be a warrant put out for his arrest plus an added charge of breaching court orders. Constables would then seek out the offender and arrest the offender in order to bring the person back into court and the fact that the offender breached his court orders by leaving during a trial session would incur further damaging sentencing to the offender and would not look good for their defence.
