in a criminal case under Sec 498A, if the order is in favour of the accused and if the prosecution side is not making an appeal, can the litigant makes an appeal? if so what is the procedure?

complainant has to ask the prosecution to file an appeal. complainant cannot directly file an appeal against acquittal if it was case of FIR

yes, the litigant is given a right to appeal in the amendment of crpc. consult your lawyer for filing the appeal.
